How To Target Teachers With A Lead Generation Campaign on Facebook and Instagram

They say that leads are the lifeblood of any business. By developing a lead generation campaign, you can create a system that collects information about potential customers who are interested in your products or services.


This information can then be used to follow up with these individuals and convert them into paying customers. Who doesn’t want that?

HOW TO SET UP YOUR LEAD GEN CAMPAIGN:

1. Start off by going to business.facebook.com/adsmanager.

2. On the Campaign Level, you may start by naming you Campaign using this format: (Campaign - Objective - Target).

3. Choose AUCTION on the Buying Type.


4.Tick off LEAD GENERATION on the Campaign Objective.


5. Turn on Campaign Budget Optimization.

Now, the AD SET LEVEL, at this level we get to tell Facebook and Instagram who it is we want to see our offer.


7. Input Ad Set Name and choose INSTANT FORMS on the lead method option.

Now we choose our AUDIENCE.


8. In the locations, choose PEOPLE LIVING IN THIS LOCATION.

9. Add the age range. For the purposes of this campaign we are going to assume most teachers are between the ages of 25 and 64.


10. Select gender. Generally you can select “All” but in this campaign we made gender specific ad copy for our teachers.


11. Type TEACHER in the detailed targeting *Make sure that on the right side, it says ‘JOB TITLE’ Select all of the forms of the word teacher ex. Kindergarten teacher, special education teacher, etc. As long as they’re teachers we want them in this ad group.

12. Choose manual placement (it means you can choose where to show your ads).

13. Choose FB and IG newsfeed. This is the most popular “real estate” on Facebook and Instagram.


14. For optimization of Ad Delivery- click ‘LEADS’.


And we’ll finish this tutorial by putting together our ad creative at the AD LEVEL of our Campaign.

15. Type your Ad Name. We name ours according to the type of creative and something recognizable about the content. Ex. Video - Kid on a skateboard.


16. Select the correct Facebook business page you’d like to display the content.


17. Click SINGLE IMAGE OR VIDEO for the format.

*By clicking the edit video button inside of the EDIT MEDIA screen, you can optimize your content by choosing your thumbnail, cropping, trimming, and captioning your ad.

18. Paste or write your ad copy in the Primary Text box.


19. Type in your Headline.


20. Description is optional but make sure to choose your CTA/ Call to Action.


21. Press PUBLISH.


For using the same ad content with a different target audience ex, women, simply duplicate the ad set (it will in cluse the ad level by default). Start by clicking on the 3 dots pictured below and press DUPLICATE.


Finally, you can double back, rename your new ad set and adjust the detailed targeting.



Conclusion

Remember, you don't want to bombard your followers with too many calls to action, but a couple of well-placed ads should do the trick.
